Land Cover Management

"A detailed study of relationship between plant roots and the rhizosphere flora is essential. In the rhizosphere the living condition are more favourable for microbes than in bulk or non rhizosphere soil.
The diameter of the rhizosphere can be considered to be equal to the region to which root hair penetration in soil and exude chemicals. It has been reported that the tip of the root hair develops a globule of liquid. It increases in size for two to three days and form a large droplet. Later the size of the droplet decreases. Organic substances pass from the roots into the soil by solubilisation of mucilage sheet, droplet secreted by root hairs exudation from intact cell, sloughing off of fragments of cell wall release of material from cortical cells or by their senescence. The term exudate therefore signifies all these phenomenon................ "
