“Centre for Environmental Development” Wardha is a reputed institute in Central India. It has developed and it is developing number of Appropriate Technologies. From last more than one decades CED is working on Rural Technologies, specially doing research, demonstration, field trials, training and product development. CED predominantly works in the arenas of Education, Natural Habitation, Sanitation, Energy, Ecology, Environment & Agriculture, Rural Industries and Appropriate Technology, and Training & Extension of Modern Science.
Technologies promoted by the Centre for Environmental Development (CED) are ecologically sound, economically viable and socially just. Value addition of our products ranges from 100 to 2000%. Our target group is poor citizens , tribal, marginal farmers, artisans and especially rural youth and women.

ORGANIC FARMING:
1. A team of 5 farmers from Chandrapur took an exposure training in the subject of Organic farming in the month of April 2018.
2. Trained 20 students from two Social work Colleges (Kumbhalkar College of Social Work and Ambedkar College of Social Work, Wardha) got an input on organic farming during academic year 2018 – 2019.
BIODIVERSITY:
Reliance of farmers on selected crops and horticulture trees is limiting their income. To increase farmers income scientific work has been done on following trees. Name of Economically important part is given against plant’s name
1. Madhuca indica (Mahua): Flowers and seeds
2. Sterculia urens (Karu / Katira): Gum
3. Acacia catechu (Khair): Gum / Kattha
4. Dendrocalamus strictus (Bamboo)
5. Anogeisus latifolia (Dhawada): Gum
TREE PLANTATION:
In association with Department of Social Forestry and grassroots organisation CED planted 25 economically important trees in common land near villages.
RENEWABLE ENERGY:
In association with a local entrepreneur (Mr. Ankit Panchbhai) CED chalk out a training program for youths. Training duration Was of 02 and 05 days. Title of the training program is “Solar electric System Installer and Service Provider”.
VILLAGE ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT:
Gave exposure training to 07 persons from Tapobhoomi, Orissa in the subject of Food Processing i.e. Ambadi and Mahua.
Training in the subject of Food Processing conducted for 25 women associated with MCED, Wardha in the month of March 2019 at Seloo.
Training in the subject of Non Timber Forest Produce (NTFP) was given to 30 tribal women associated with Forest Department of Brahmapuri, Chandrapur in the month of December 2018.
Processing of Tuar (Cajanus cajan) to make Daal (Pulse) was taught to 30 women of villages adjoining Wardha.
Turmeric processing was taught to 60 students of MSW College (April 2018).
Dr. Soham Pandya Visited Panchgaon near Virur (Station), Chandrapur District on 3 rd and 4 th November 2018 to discuss issues of Forest Management. CED agreed to give training to youths of this village in the subject of “Bamboo Preservation”.
HABITATION AND SANITATION:
01) 35 Students and faculty members of ” Kavikulguru Institute of Technology and Science” (KITS), Ramtek from Architecture Colleges were given inputs on Eco Friendly Houses and the construction material used were Bamboo and Mud.
02) Experiments were done to use weeds and agro waste (Lantana camera (Ghaneri); Ipomoea fistulosa (Behaya or Besharm); Vitex nigundo (Nirgudi); Musa spe (Banana); Cajanus cajan (Tuar); Gossipium spe (Cotton). etc.) in construction technology with good results.
HEALTH AND HYGIENE:
CED organized an exposure training program for 50 SHG members at Sirkutni in the subject of ” Health and Hygiene ” for a day on 09th October 2018.
EDUCATION / TRAINING:
1. Organized a training in the subject of “Non Timber Forest Products” in Sodlagondi village of Goregaon Block of Gondia District during April 2018
2. 25 students of Pipary took training in the subject of “Paper Conversion and Value addition” during 20th and 21st April 2018 Science and Spirituality ” Vishvam Pushtam Grame Asmin Anaturam ” Let my village exhibit fit and healthy world.
NETWORKING:
1. Meeting of ” Star Forum ” organized during 14 th and 15 th December 2018 was attended by Dr. Soham Pandya.
2. Attended a Nagari Sanman of Smt. Kusum Tai Bang in IGS campus during 16:00 to 19:30 hours on 30 th December 2018 3. On 04 th January 2019, staff of CSV celebrated Birth Anniversary of Dr. J. C. Kumarappa in the CSV campus.
