Pottery Technology (Duration 07th March 2022 to 19th March 2022): NIRD&PR , Hyderabad sponsored 13 days training program was conducted in the premises of Department of Rural Craft and Design, Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Rural development (MGIRI) & it was attended by 36 participants (women and men). They learned different aspects of pottery. In the training program trainees were given inputs in the following subjects.a) Making clay body, i.e. paste or putty b) Shaping and Moulding; c) Firing or baking; d) Decorating, such as glazing (slipping), painting, etc
Production of pottery ware involved number of techniques and some of them, taught to trainees are Hand-building; The potter’s wheel; Granulate pressing; Injection moulding; Jiggering and jolly; Slip casting etc.
